The GL 420 CDI is equipped with a developed V8 Diesel engine delivering a power of 225 kW (306 HP) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm which ensures a sporty driving with pleasing fuel consumption values. Both of the Diesel engines are equipped with a particulate filter which ensures the meeting of the EU-4 emission limits. In the GL 450 and GL 500 8-cylinder gasoline engines await your command. The 250 kW (340 HP) power of the GL 450 is an adventure of its own. A very special engine is hidden in the GL 500. With its rated power of 285 kW (388 HP) it is among the most powerful and yet most fuel-efficient engines in its class. This modern, light-weight engine is equipped with shifting camshafts which optimize load changes. As a result of this a more stable operation and a higher torque at medium speeds are obtained.
