The limits of emission mentioned in Euro 3 standard are met by the technical design precautions applied to the engines, Euro 4 and Euro 5 emission limits could only be provided by using the systems for the process of exhaust gasses. BlueTec® is the effective answer of Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards of Mercedes-Benz which enables to meet them cost-effectively from today.
In simple terms, BlueTec®, our system for treating exhaust emissions, encompasses a modified engine with an output which has been increased to differing degrees depending on the variant, an additive known as AdBlue, an SCR catalytic converter and a diagnosis system, a feature which will become a legal requirement in the future. The modified engines exhibit impressively low fuel consump- tion and increased injection pressure.
